Interests & Keywords

The Interest system allows you to find content and feeds which might be of interest to you based on your self-reported interests. Interests are collections of content from around the site, including Users, Communities, Topics, Tags and Keywords. You are asked to select your interests when you sign up, but you are always able to change your interests by clicking the “Manage Interests” button on the fun.app homepage.

Interests allow you to find both feeds and content, which can be toggled between at the top of the fun.app homepage by selecting “Feeds” or “Content”.

If you wish to be (or want your community to be) discoverable as part of the interest system, you must mark your page profile or community with a keyword associated with that interest. If your page profile or community uses a keyword associated with an interest, you or your community will become discoverable under than interest.

Please note that selecting an interest does not make you follow any content and will not affect your experience outside of the fun.app homepage. If you wish to follow this content, you must manually do so from this page.

Keywords are admin created labels that can be applied to your profile, collections, channels or communities. Keywords are descriptive terms which can be applied to help with discovery of your content. You may apply up to 5 keywords to any of these items (profile/collection/channel/community) which will make you associated with those keywords and discoverable on the keyword page.

For profiles, your keywords are site specific. These keywords will make your profile discoverable when another user is searching the keyword and will allow you to invisibly tag your posted content with the tag associated with the keyword (i.e. if you use the “viral” keyword, you can invisibly tag your content with the “#viral” tag without it showing up on the post). You can individually choose on each post whether to use each of your keywords as a tag.

For communities, your selected keywords with be associated with the community as a whole, but will also be applied to all posts made within your community.

For collections and channels, the keywords are only used for discovery and does not effect the content within them.
